Mitsubishi FTO version R
Discussion
alright folks new on the pistonheads forum and i just recently bought an FTO version R , i spent a good few months tryin to find 1 for sale that had manual transmission but havin test drove an auto im glad i waited
quite a rare car with only 300 odd being built and only 50 of those with manual gears , for those not familiar with the version R it was mitsubishi's attempt at beating the honda integra type R - although it failed the result is still a cracking little car to drive that has superb handling for a front drive car and its pretty quick too despite what some say about the FTO
only have a couple of pics that i snapped on my phone but i will get some decent shots on the go soon

the main differences are this has a limited slip diff , better suspension set up with bigger anti roll bars plus front and back strut braces as standard and its slightly lighter . came with a nicer interior and different back spoiler . its not really much faster but it handles so much better than my old GPX
Woody! i remember seeing yours down at Eurospec on several occaisions. very clean.
this was mine:

just scrapped it actually.
OP - get yourself over to www.ftooc.org and get signed up. they are a good bunch and know their stuff. try and get on one of the tunnel runs in london if you arent too far away.
the main (annoying) difference with the GPvR is that it does not have central locking, no digital climate control and no flip-wing mirrors.
feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.
