selling ultima regretes
Discussion
Hi , had my Ultima two years now , and every time I take it out ( done about a 2000 mile ) its a special feeling , but there is a little bit of me of late that has a little erge to sell it , no real reason ? yeah iv not long bought a new toy ( a modified duratec Lotus Elise oh ! and my wife liked mine so much she went out and bought her own lol ) and there s not really anyting I want to replace the Utima with ( well maybe an Audi r8 ?? or a 355 ) , so my question ? who s regretted selling their Ultima or not ??
I also get those feelings from time to time but i usually get into the garage and those doubts disappear. I tend to do a small mileage each year (about 1000) but I just love owning it and tinkering with it and I think you would be hard pressed to find a car with this kind of performance that you can also play Meccano with.

Right from the off the GTW was everything to me.
It took me 5 years to get it on the road and yes, it was a monumental achievement and I enjoyed every minute of it, even the colossal amount of money that I invested that somehow just seemed appropriate at the time (never, ever again though!)
But now I no longer have it, do I miss it?
No is the short answer.
How one feels in such a situation is I think a combination of so many factors past, present and future, although of that we may only surmise.
It was the journey that I enjoyed.
The arrival merely signified the end of that journey and so I was happy to move on to the next new thing.
The great thing for me in all of this is some of the great friends I have made during my Ultima experience (you know who you are
) and the knowledge and information I have gleaned along the way.

So, something brewing....?
Well, the plans are there, but need to clear the garage of other projects first!
The Ultima is very much unfinished business to me. I strived to make the best car I could with the first two and they both fulfilled different roles very well indeed. They weren't perfect (in terms of having the perfect supercar), but they were pretty damn close IMHO.
However, having had two SBC cars (with their relative pros/cons), having an Ult with a more modern power unit (read LS7) is an itch that must be scratched.

will u stop at just that though, thats the $$$$$$ question.
To be honest - yes (probably)
Reliability and low maintenance would be the watchword next time. Just want something I can jump in and go with, not having to gauge watch all the time. It makes for a far more enjoyable ownership proposition. Then again, it's probably just because I'm getting old
