Anyone use these and know how much they cost? ( www.secureplate.co.uk)

Most suppliers seem to be Halfords which suggest they won't be cheap (I paid £15 for one new plate there last night)

Obtaining fuel without the inconvenience of paying for it, mainly.

I just don't get why out of all the cars in the street you'd choose a Picanto to steal the plates from - hardly the criminal's car of choice is it?

Suppose it wouldn't matter if you were just going to slip it on to steal fuel and then get rid

Unusual to just take the one plate, both front & rear were stolen from my car.

The rear one is PROPERLY stuck on (I used 8 adhesive strips on it, because I wasn't using any on the front at the time - and with screws it rattled when I closed the tailgate)

Just because someone can't steal the plate, doesn't mean they can't write the number down and get one made up. If you know someone in a motorfactors or have your own machine, they're neither expensive or hard to get.

I'm aware of how easy it is to get plates made up (I can get them on eBay with no documentation and for a quarter of the price Halfords charge) however that didn't stop someone stealing my plate did it irked

I guess I could just use clutch head screws to put new plates on with - but then not being able to ever remove them again might prove problematic as the car gets older scratchchin

I've got legal, pressed aluminium plates, pop-riveted on. Rears are riveted in to the boot lid, front is riveted through the bumper in to an aluminium strip mounted inside the bumper. I'd like to see anyone stealing them.

Ask at your local police station. They fit security screws to my number plates for free the day after I'd put my new plates on - they were parked up at a school advertising the service as I drove past so I thought, why not.

Apparently it's a local scheme to prevent driveaways at garages, but he said that most police forces will do it as they had the equipment (I asked what I would do if I needed to change/replace plates).
