Following on from earlier thread on Chips Away and the conclusion that Chips Away are great for scratches and scrapes but simply not cost effective for the stone chipping that blights our TVRs, I'm planning to get a front end respray done on my Chimaera.

I want to protect the respraid front and I've heard that Armourfend looks acceptable on some colours and crap on others. My Chimaera is Silver Starmist. Any thoughts or experience on how it would look? (Or cost?!)

Thanks a lot

Armourfend only covers the front half of the car - you can quite easily see where it ends. Much better on a Griff due to the style of the bonnet. You pays your money and takes your choice. In my opinion, once you've had the respray (get some extra paint off them), you should keep on top of any stone chips that occur in the future.

Not sure how much for a Chimaera, but a nose section for my Griff is £170.00. Plus £150.00 labour.

Ian could be right about it being slightly more noticeable on a Chim, as a Griff if more rounded and swoopy on the front.

My Griff already had the Armourfend on it when I bought it. If it did'nt, I would have had it done anyway. Its brilliant. It has kept the front immaculate. Try and find a Chimp that has had it done.
