LS3 diagnostics

I wondered if anyone can tell me if the standard LS3 loom/ECU has a diagnostics socket and if the system works on the OBDII format?
The reason I'm asking is because I don't have the loom and ECU yet but I'm setting up my dash layout and I fancy fitting a Garmin GPS that has the option of an engine diagnostics dongle that plugs into the diagnostic socket.
I thought it could be a handy little gadget but I'm not going to fork out £80 for the dongle if it won't work.

Yep it does have a diagnostic socket and it is OBDII.

Hi

The obd on the ls3 is gmlan. This is not compatible with most diag readers.

Obd2 is open and published but gmlan is not.

So check that the garmin is gmlan compatible.

Standard LS3 engine looms from GM or a pull out don't have an ODB socket, you can retro fit one tho.

The OBD2 socket is part of the body harness on standard GM products, hence why it doesn't come with an engine take out. Cheap and easy to buy a new generic socket and wire the 4 wires in to the engine harness though.

My engine loom for an LS7 had an obd2 connector and a bulkhead connector both of which have the can wires.

The OP asked about LS3 I've wired 3-4 & As said by 4 pack the ODB is part of the dash loom. Very easy to install one I have the pin outs if/when you require

By the sounds of things, some or even most looms have the OBD socket, I will be ordering my engine and ECU with loom from parts world just after Xmas and hopefully it will have one. If anyone has one of their looms and can confirm that it has one, I would be interested to know... Or if you read this Kyle and can confirm it for me, I have it on good authority that you should be able to answer it for me.
