Leave out the milk for me..... Purer taste IMHO

Having bought beans from speciality shops for the past few years, we ran out recently with no opportunity to get any quickly so I bought a couple of packs of sainsburys beans, they're really rather good! Especially the Kenyan.

1/4 mug of water plus a spoon of sainsburys rich instant. Let it simmer an then put in 3/4 of a mug of milk. Bring it to the boil and done.

Bear in mind I know sweet fk all about coffee. I drink at most 3 cups a week just to wake me up for work and thats it. Open to some reccomendations for some better instant coffee if such a thing exists or even better roast stuff as long as the equipment required to make it doesnt cost more than £30 (due to how little I drink it)

A dollop of Douwe Egberts with a teaspoon of brown sugar. Add a little milk, mix it up and add just boiled water to 3/4 fill the mug.

Acceptable.

Did you get those measures the wrong way round or do you actually drink coffee-flavoured milk?

About 4-5 dessert spoons of ground coffee into the cafetiere. Brew for the time it takes to do me toast, inch or so of milk. Boosh!

Warm up machine/cup, grind beans, place grounds in portafilter, tamp, pour one cup of espresso. Drink (neat). Perfect. smile

I push a button on a machine. Witchcraft ensues, beans end up ground, water ends up hot, coffee ends up in the cup.

At home: cafetiere, Tesco French Ground (you may scoff but I love it), served in my Laguna Seca mug.

Work: press button, add a splash of milk or double espresso + 1 sugar if I'm about to drive home, or I use an emergency cafetiere when the machine breaks.

Weekends at home сafetière, weekdays and office cone filter. Can't be arsed with the faff and cleaning involved with the сafetière most of the time. I also have a moka pot for special occasions. wink
Taylors Hot Lava Java - harsh, but a bit of a zing about it.

At home: self freshly ground 50:50 mix of mocha and java beans in a small cafetiere if it's just me, through the perculator if the missus is in a coffee mood. If I'm out of mocha/java, I'll grind beans from the local deli which seem to be a not too overroasted italian variety that taste fantastic.

At work: whatever the teaboat bosun is buying from the kitty. The old one favoured kenco instant which was just about acceptable. Current one is buying the nastiest powdered tar and it's foul. Think I'm about to switch to tea at work, or buying another cafetiere and bringing in some normal coffee.

Instant coffee requires milk. Real coffee I prefer straight up and black. Sugar is for children.

One of these, take it off the stove soon after it begins to percolate.

Heat the milk before adding.

Coffee flavoured milk, clearly! I like a milky coffee, same goes for a cup of tea.

So any suggestions for some better instant coffee?
