How much can you haggle in used car prices?

I realise this is a little 'how long is a piece of string' but am currently looking to get an SLK 280 .
I have noticed prices varying considerably between dealers. My budget is really max 13k but have seen a couple I
Ike at about 15k. How much room to knock down prices is there for this sort of car in this price range.
What sort of discounts are people getting on used cars at the moment?

As much as you like.
Haggling works both ways - If you're prepared to walk away or the seller's prepared to stick to their guns, then you'll find a limit, but otherwise you'll agree on something.
Only pay what you think a car is worth, not what the seller thinks its worth, but don't start with an insulting stupid offer or they may just decide not to sell to you (I know I have!).

As a seller, only take what you're prepared to accept.

I'd say £13k down from £15k is a bit of an ask, particularly if there ARE cars available at £13k and it's just that you want a "bargain".
Find a car that's sat on the forecourt a while and get at least 10% off and I'd say you've done well, but be prepared to forego "dealer extras" for the privilidge.
That £2k extra value you're after may well come from buying privately rather than from a dealer.

Pretty much - identical spec wise except that the 15k one I have seen has the amg body kit. Basically it's a question if the body kit is worth an extra 2k. Preferably would want the amg as I think it makes it look a lot nicer.
Having said that I have seen a slk 350 fully kitted at 12k which makes me think that the 280 is overpriced.
