Was talking to an old mate of mine who I see a couple of times a year and he mentioned that he hadn't driven his car since 1992 yikes

Plus it's been sitting in his garage all this time.

It's a Ford Escort 1.3 Ghia Mk3 from the mid 80s.

Would this be worth anything plus he is worried about this SORN business for if he declares it, will he get into trouble for the nearly 20 years it's been off the road but still registered to him?

He is not a petrolhead btw.

Cheers.

Value will surely be dictated by condition.

I'd have thought that should it be in excellent condition with a new MOT, it must be worth £1,000 to someone? If it's a tatty heap in near of a lot of work, £150?

there is no problem for cars already off road before SORN was introduced.

As for the car not worth much unless immaculate .

Try selling it or for spares at http://www.seriesoneturbo.co.uk/index.php

Its not just for RS Turbo.

No SORN issues, it only applies if the car has been taxed at some point since 1998.
