Any reason why I shouldn't put Exige S2 wheels with the Yoko A048 tyres straight onto my 111R with standard suspension? I was thinking about going the whole hog and getting Exige suspension retro-fitted, but after reading the Autocar review this week I'd rather keep the R's composure on bumpier roads.

Cheers,
Rob

Er yes. Your suspension will be too soft for the AO48s if you don't uprate the dampers*. As to autocars lefty sandalist review, I'd ignore that. They are simply wrong. The Exige 2 setup is sublime. If you can't afford the dampers, then put on less grippy tyres, but take the Exige rims if you want. This is worthwhile on older S2s but not sure now that the understeer is alledgedly dialed out.

* you'll potentially hit the bumpstops under hard cornering which unsettles the car, and also foul bits of bodywork.

p.s. There are people who run AO48s with standard suspenion and claim its fine. Its hard to know whether or not they are qualified to judge though (as per any advice given on a forum).

I've run them fine. Only problem is the car becomes a little unbalanced on high speed corners and you have to make lots of adjustments to counter the wobbling. I would definitely suggest upgrading the bushes to nylatron.
