Wanted old school garage/exhaust place
Discussion
I want to remove & gut through the middle of the DPF filter on my wires Citroen C5. Tried myself, but lying on my back in the gravel, with a socket set ... but no access to heat/air/ramp makes getting off the rusted nuts almost impossible, and I don't want to round/break them.
Our 'legit' non franchised garage that usually does odd bits of work is reluctant to do anything other than the factory option, which is full clean out, added fluid ecu reset etc, and await the same 'Clean DPF filter' messages & limp mode in a few thousand miles.
I have looked into the DPF delete, quite happy with the consequences, especially as it's an old car, and not worth much. I can get the ECU bit done without any issues, just can't get the DPF itself off.
Anyone know of a good old school garage/mechanic or exhaust place that a) won't destroy all the surrounding pipe & bodywork as the attack it with a large hammer, and b) won't be too upset straying off factory guidelines.
Looking for somewhere fairly close to Toddington, so Luton/Dunstable etc ....
Thank you

Thanks chaps. I ended up doing it myself. The dpf took a bit if removing, only because of rusty bolts...but eventually came off. Took about 20 mins and a masonry drill bit to remove the innards. Refitted, no issues with limp mode, but have since connected the Citroen software and reset to Dpf off.....many Citroen/Peugeot at this age were sold with or without a dpf, so you can simply switch off all functions without a remap of the ECU.
Results, better economy, about 4 mpg, and much better performance.
