Seeing as we've had the "cars you instantly regretted buying" thread. How about a cars you bought thinking it wouldn't be much cop and then found out to be much more interesting!

For example my desperate need for a cheap work runner and a lack of time and money drove me to my shockingly slow 1.4 arosa- surprisingly I love the little thing- yes it's slow, but with its coilovers bolted on its just got bags of character!

My otherhalf bought a Mini Cooper S JCW in 2008, and I didn't really like it to begin with, drove it for a bit and I was hooked, it was one of the best cars we had and I still regret parting with it

My car went into the garage for longer than i expected, so to tide me over a lad down the gym sold me his Xsara TD for 200 quid. I drove it for six months, never missed a beat - even rear ended a yaris and needed nothing more than a new radiator. Awesome cheap motoring.
