whats the best warranty ?

just in the process of buying the missus a 3 year old AUdi TT.. whats the best company to get a warranty with and how much should it cost per year ?

The best one must surely be the Audi warranty.

I use WarrantyDirect and, if you do decide to look at them, do an online enquiry the wait a few days and they'll call you and offer you all sorts of incentives to sign up - you should be able to get all the optional covers included, reduce the waiting period for wear and tear claims and possibly get the excess zero'd too. They may do 13mths for the price of 12 too.

I went for WD after reading various reports on the Merc forums and they were generally positive. You'll see some very negative comments too, but bear in mind these these things are insurance policies. There has to be some specific fault that can be identified - they're really no good for things like it's not quite running right, or making a funny noise. I regard it as a safety net in case something major happens.

Not much help to you really.

But, I think the main dealer warranty is pretty good.
It's got the manufacturers name behind it, and there's a certain amount of brand loyaly/reputation/goodwill behind it too.

Just put the money into a bank account and save up for any repairs that might occur instead. A 3yr old car should give years of trouble free service.

I've always done this and am certainly "in profit" vs paying a warranty company hundreds of pounds per year.
