It appears I am being introduced to the full Tvr Ownership Experience already. Clutch has gone. Impossible to engage a gear whilst engine is running. Bleeding the clutch has fixed it for the moment so at least its not the fingers. There was a small damp patch under the car recently when it was dry so coupled with bits in the fluid and plenty of air bubbles coming through when bleeding points to the slave.

So, would you trust your pride and joy to the likes of Mr Clutch or always go to a TVR specialist for this kind of job?

Do you know of any reputable TVR specialists near Sutton, SW London / Surrey? Something closer than Fenhurst ie within the M25?

You have Austec just by Gatwick airport, should be easy to get to for you.

Taylor TVR at Maidstone is very good but may be a bit off your patch.

Definitely Slave Cylinder.

Had lots of trouble with mine so got the Raceproved replacement and it's been brilliant ever since.

Wouldn't trust Mr. Clutch, but any indie would do it. Is APM any nearer to you?

Suppose I should add Definitely sounds like Slave Cylinder .

It's the ex Raceproved show car, should have got them to chuck one in for me for when the inevitable happened!

In fairness to them - I strongly suspect that Mr Clutch or any of the chains would take one look and refuse to touch it. At least you would hope so.

Can you not change it yourself as you'll be saving a small fortune?

It's not that difficult to do outside the house up on 4 axle stands.

Could be done in a day (just) but, because of the early darkness now i'd bank on a weekend to turn the job around.

As you may well see from the extensive file I hope was passed on to you with the car, Austec are very familiar with your car, as are Raceproved of course.
