I got caught by a Gatso a few weeks back (downhill, changing lanes, watching my mirrors and just misjudged my speed - 40 in a 30 urban dual-carriageway).
Heard nothing and assumed I was ok.
Just discovered that an NIP was sent to my employers (not the branch I'm based at) but addressed to me, as the lease company (who's car it was) had identified me as the driver.
I'm not disputing that I committed the offence or trying to wriggle out of it, BUT my employers opened it and sent it back denying all knowledge. Only then did they check their paperwork, tracked me down and sent me a photocopy.
The '28 days to respond' period runs out on 28/6 and I don't want to incur further penalties.
But I haven't actually received the NIP myself and my employers have rejected it on my behalf.
Not sure what to do, any ideas?

I wouldn't worry if you haven't received it. It will go back to the Lease company I think? If they can't provide the drivers details then they will get the fine.

Oh dear

So they send the NOIP to Reg Keeper (in time it seems)who names you as driver at your place of work. They send forms addressed to you at place of work and employer opens your personally addressed letter (isn't that an offence interferring with mail and sends back form denying.

So at the moment the request has been sent out in your name and in 28 days law will not hsve been complied with by you because of the action of your employer. So Court action will be commenced against you as the named one. Following this through then you on the admin side are Not Guilty so will plead so and use your employer as a witness who will have to incriminate themselves. Not a good scenario.

You seem to accept the inevitable so should you so desire, either send the copy back, signed, to Office of Issue, explaining the cock up pay 60 and 3 points. Matter over.

Do nothing, wait and worry as to what will transpire.
