D4 any deals going out there?
Discussion
Our D3 HSE 2.7d is coming to the end of it's lease and we have to make the decision to either walk away, keep it or upgrade.
Looking at a nearly new D4 and wondering if anyone has seen or had a decent deal done from a dealer?
Would be looking for the 3.0D as it's mainly the family car. Wife loves the D3 despite its faults and has so far turned down the Q7 as pig ugly, X5 as too Essex and when I mentioned the Cayenne she just gave me one of 'those looks'.....

I am guessing that for our 55 plate D3 HSE with 73,000 miles we'd be looking at selling for around £14k so could just buy off the leasing company and drive it into the ground but quite like the look and new spec of the D4.
So, where do I get these great deals then?

Used to have the D3 HSE but changed to the D4 a year ago, what a huge difference in performance, handling and comfort. We have previously always had the top of range HSE/ES but this time with the HSE retailing at £50k+ we looked at the GS model and spec'd it up, you can get it to HSE spec minus Sat nav and sunroof for around £41k. This saves £10k off the HSE, if you keep it for 5 years the resale will be within £ 2k of the HSE.

Great news...was looking at a lower spec for that exact reason....nice to know there are ways around it.Edited by macar on Monday 14th November 21:39

Seems to be a buyers market on new Discos at the moment. I spent saturday morning haggling my local dealer and came away with their last remaining (unregistered) HSE for £46800 with privacy glass and option alloys.
Pick up on Thursday :-)
Was it the new 8 speed or the old model?Pick up on Thursday :-)

Tried something similar in June when I ordered mine, however they (dealers) were not taking any orders for the GS as there were no build slots available so went for a spec'd up XS, as the fancier leather and electric seats in the HSE didn't appeal, and I can park a car without the aid of five cameras. Perhaps this has changed now but were very insistent on an October delivery as we were expecting our first baby then. In the end received the first 2012 D4 from that dealership and 2k5 miles on couldn't be happier with it.Was told that there was no movement in price by the dealer. May have been BS but I'm not a fan of haggling anyway. Why can't cars just be sold like everything else? Here's the price, that's what you pay.

That sounds like a fantastic deal. I was talking to a local dealer (Herts) last week and he said Landrover had diverted all D4s intended for UK delivery in December to Asia.... and hence no deals going at all. You got about £5k off the list price. Are you free in about 3 months when I go to buy mine? Pick up on Thursday :-)
