Headlights packed in!

Same happeded to me this evening, except my MIL light comes on as the headlights go out.
Brummmie your issue is probably the swithing box in the boot, normally found on top of the tank on the drivers side, look for burnt wires and connector pins.
And now for the highjack.
Any idea where my problem is, mine flick on and off with the MIL light on flashing when head lights go off, earthing problem?

You'll probably find the connectors in the boot have burnt out. Unplug the control box and you'll see, look for scorch marks on the pin connectors from the unit. Mine started buzzing when I had the lights on which gave me some prior notice, so I managed to catch the fault before the connections burnt.

Get kitcarblair to replace it for a proper connector that is up to the job.

Check what bulbs you have installed.. I only just realised the other day mine had some 85w/100w bulbs in! I always wondered what everyone was complaining about when they said their headlights were dim!!! I changed them out for a set of 35w HIDs on a relay anyway
My connector had begun to blacken but wasn't anywhere near as bad as yours!!!!

New to this forum, and to Cerberas, although not TVRs (had a remarkably reliable 3000M when I was 25). Fun to own one again...
Anyway, my headlights seem to have gone the same way - only sidelights and full beam - checked the fuses and all fine,but that little box looked blackened where the connector goes in. I can't get it out to have a proper look (didn't have a screwdriver at work) but reckon it will look a bit like the photograph inside.
What are the likely causes of this, as you say, wouldn't want something burning out on top of the fuel tank...

...and connectors that are just not up to the job.
Tanguero - modify the box and fit a more appropriate connector. I'll find out from Dad what he used, but needless to say - the same is used on our 'leccy car and, more surprisingly, our T350c.

Don't know if you seen the thread running just now about the new legislation on HID's for the MOT? My connector had begun to blacken but wasn't anywhere near as bad as yours!!!!
They will fail a MOT next year if you don't have washers and a self leveling kit fitted. I will be taking mine out soon.
