Hi guys,

I'm looking for some recommendations for window tinters around the Edinburgh area I know of Magma in Bathgate but was wondering if there was anything closer to home? Or any good deals on at the moment?

They have to know what they are doing as I want my Vantage sorted. Assuming it's a top job I also want the SmartCar tinted as well.

TIA

Lewis

I can’t help with Edinburgh, but Pentagon Glass Tech in Glasgow are amazing. Best tinting work I’ve ever seen.

I'm about to get my car done at Pentagon next week *fingers crossed* and will post the results when complete.

They’ve done a couple of my Porsches and did a great job - even when other outfits had refused the job because the rear hatch glass was too difficult. They went to the trouble of aligning individual sheets of tinting film along the lines of the heating element on the glass, so that the joins would remain invisible.

Another vote here. Used them twice. Great service and fair pricing too.

Hi, have had a few vehicles also done by Pentagon and found them very good but quite expensive, have had my current E Class done by Xtreme Auto Tints and found there work just as good and more reasonable priced.

You sure they are still there? I got what I understand is the guy who runs/ran the Ratho place to clear-wrap a grille surround on my car and wasn't overly impressed with the work.

I don't know anyone in Edinburgh but Andrew from Magma is very good, i've been using him for years. He is based in Uphall Station/Pumpherston now and is literally 2 minutes walk from the train station so handy to drop the car off then get the train back into Edinburgh again if you need to.

I used to be in this game and its a tricky old thing to get right but if you find the right place it will look awesome.

go for a place that uses Llumar films as they are by the best, or where 6 years ago.

yup, agree with the post above about Llumar films....market leaders and without a doubt could take more wear and damage than any other film on the market!

I know the AM wont be a primary target but our local plod take a dim (excuse the pun) view on anyone with film on the front o/s and n/s glass these days.
Many traffic cars carry the light meters for roadside testing and any film combined with the OE tint that the manufacturers have in there already is an instant fail of the construction and use legislation now its been amended to include films applied to the glass, not just the glass as used to be the case.
