Hi

My work is taking me to Manchester for the next 5 months and I need to find my own accomodation / hotel room. I want to negotiate a fixed daily / weekly price for the room. What is the usual percentage discount you can achieve from the normal rack rate?

Usually at least 60% on rack, if not more.

If you need to be central, can heartily recommend talking to the Palace Hotel.

What about a serviced apartment. I've stayed in hotels for a few weeks at a time for work and I was going stir crazy after the 1st week.

Much nicer to have you own space where you can sit in a separate room to watch Tv and having the optio of cooking for yourself.

Roomzzz in Manchester is pretty good. Apart-hotel in Manchester City Centre, near the Chinatown area.

Various sized 'apartments' to suit varying budgets.

Definitely worth checking out.

For that length of time isn't it worth renting a flat instead of a hotel room?
