OK. So sometimes our Chimaera drives me up the pole.
But today it redeemed itself utterly.
Roof down tootling along to work, "Steamy Window" blaring loudly on the stereo and the exhausts blaring louder still...kids yelling: "MUM! Tee Veee Arrr!"...and totally ignoring the blinged up Fiesta in front...
Simply wonderful...

"steamy windows" playing on the stereo would lead to me having one of those days it drives me up the pole
A series of short journeys on crappy roads (we have plenty of them round here thanks to the cable guys and a council that has a philosophy that that you can impose slower road speeds without putting in other "traffic calming" measures if you have a good sprinkling of potholes and sunken drains/manhole covers etc) is usually the circumstance when I start looking at jacking the 450 in and getting a sensible car with appropriate suspension. (Saw a new 545i beemer earlier today that got me thinking 
) but then I get the 450's top off and go for a long drive in the sun and I couldn't begin to think of not having the Chimaera. I don't do enough miles to justify two cars so the Chimaera (and my smile) stays.

Yup, its what makes it all worthwhile - we were out to see friends nr Oxford yesterday and top down in the sun made it all worthwhile - good job we got the lid on before it chucked it down about 6pm though.
Only down side was that I have got my petrol leak in the boot back again so the car is booked into Fernies for a check up next week to see if they can cure it. Going to get the knocking shocks sorted while its in as well.....better dust off the credit card me thinks!

Tell me more about your knocking shocks, i have a strange knocking noise that sems to come from the near side rear suspension of my Chimaera. I have checked all the pivot bolts and looked for anything that might be loose but it all looks to be OK. I have what look like bilstein shocks, yellow with yellow springs.
