I'm sure this question was asked before, but I cant find any solution. Can you get road tax for one day ? I'm going to SORN my Westfield for the winter months but I would quite look to take it out a the quick spin when it's dry. Is it poosible to get road tax only for 1 day ? Some European countries have this system where you can buy a pass for a day, or a short period of time anyway...

No, but if you want to use it yearly just stump up for the extra 6 months tax. If you already own the car, garage it at home and insure it annually the extra £100 or so it will cost to keep tax is pennies, and if I owned a westfield or catherham I'd be too stupid not to have a crack at driving in the snow with it.

Oh wouldn't it be great if we could, I SORN my Buell for the winter, but there are often days when I wish I could just tax it for the day & go for a blast. The only way is to tax for 6 months then cash it in before the end of the month.

This is my thinking - I have the car taxed all the time, even although it spends a lot of the winter in bits. The extra cost, compared to the hassle of SORN / un-SORN (or whatever the opposite of SORN is) is nothing - and you get to use the car on nice days.
