I have just been told to keep an eye on my mini paintwork for bird poo. I was told that it will wreck the paint if I don't wash it off straight away or as soon as possible.

Can someone please put my mind at rest.

Thanks

Bird poo will attack your paintwork but it wont do it instantly. As long as your car has been waxed and you wash the car within a few days you will be fine.

Oh that's good then. I try to clean my cars weekly or atleast twice a month so I will be fine. Good good.

It's no better or worse than any car. All cars use water based paints now and all will be damaged by bird-poo. Keeping it well waxed should keep it safe.

Agreed.

I keep some quick detailer & a microfibre cloth in the boot & try & remove the birdst as soon as possible smile

Washed and waxed the mini before going away on holiday - 3 weeks later I come back and it has some bird poo on the offside rear quarter. The damn stuff had welded itself to the car and was a nightmare to get off. Lo and behold the paint underneath it is knackered. I think next time I go away I shall get a car cover. Grrr. mad
