I get a lot of customers asking me which tv to buy.
Answer
Budget models, get either LG or entry level samsung, maybe a toshiba or sharp but they are very variable on quality some good some poor. There are 42 inch samsungs about for £350 at the moment.
If you have a bit more cash then sony or panasonic or high end samsung.
The most important reason for buying branded rather than label clones alba/umc/teknika etc is PARTS AVAILABILITY!
When your unbranded one breaks down you will be unable to get the parts to repair it and will have to be binned. £300 maybe but you still feel sore chucking it after 18 months.
Richer sounds do good offers on tvs, they are cheaper as they are mostly last years stock/models and if you want a warranty they only charge 10% of its value which is far better than spotty at curries will rip you off for.
Err reading that looks like i work for mr richer, not the case i install aerials and satellite so i see a lot of tellys. John lewis always price match (mainly high end stuff though) and will give you a 5 year warranty for free!
Good luck

If you want a cheap tv I don't see how you can go wrong with that
I have to admit i didnt check the ops link to see the bit about the 3 yr warranty!
On that basis it does look ok
My local cash and carry (makro) has a samsung plasma 42 inch for £306 inc vat albeit with a 1 yr warranty
Horses for courses etc with any telly always try to see it working, my 6 yr old budget bravia still knocks spots off many newer TVs
Cheers
