Big V8 4x4 with LPG - circa 3 - 6k GBP why not?
Discussion
As per title, thinking of something grunty, sit up high, 4x4 with LPG to alleviate the running costs.
Thinking specifically ML class such as this - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...
or 4.6 Range ROver between 80 - 120k - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3376923.htm
What horrors await such as engine/gearbox failure, total inability to shift on as resale as undesirable or other reasons I haven't considered? Not asking specifically of the examples here, more generally.
Motivating factors are two London - Scotland runs in winter in comfort and I fancy something comfortable, capable in severe winter conditions should they occur; wouldn't consider petrol cost for running, albeit not to be used as daily at any point.
Any other alternative thoughts would be useful.
Thaks for any thoughts.

V8 Grand Cherokee would get my vote loads about on LPG.
However trying to stop a proper 4x4 in winter is a nightmare.
Last year we had an XC90 and both of us prefered driving the A6 on winters purely for the handling and stopping abilities.
I'd prefer a FWD or 4WD car on winters unless you are in the wilds and really need the ground clearance.
