Speeding! in my sleep....

Opened the mail this morning, and lovely, a notice of intended persecution from Bristol "safety" camera unit. 50MPH on the Ilminster bypass at 09:12 in the morning 02/05/2004. Strange?, thinks I. I have driven past this camera thousands of times, I know it can tell the difference between trucks and cars (and of course the different speed limits for them) plus it sticks out like the bollocks on a bulldog, and therefore not the sort of thing you'd miss. So why then did I drive past it 10mph over the limit?. Another thought then occured to me, I work nights, or lates, the latest i ever finish,even after a REAL long shift is 7-8am.
Thank god I keep records of all work I do. I DID drive that vehicle on that day, but not until after 17:00...........result.
I have no idea who drives the dayshift, but it struck me as so simple to give the name of the agency driver(mistakenly of course), and see if he'll take the rap for it.
