We have watched all episodes and they have made good Tuesday night viewing.

Ben Miller is good (+ we are fans of Alexander Armstrong).

A pleasure not to have advertisements every 6 minutes - thank you BBC1.

Ive watched a couple of episodes and consider that a very good description. Or to phrase it slightly differently: Its okay, I suppose
FOr that reason I think it's crap.
Why commit that amount of time to something so ordinary/nondescript.

because sometimes one requires viewing that does not need huge amounts of brain cells in order to comprehend, enjoy etc

so anything you think is ok we should now read as you really mean crap?!

A fair point, but where tv is concerned I think probably yes.
We are now plagued with hundreds of channels of 24/7 tv with literally thousands of programmes showing every single day.
With that in mind, why accept something so mediocre?
I genuinely don't understand it. (Im not having a go at you , by the way, just making an observation on teh state of tv)

I do not have satellite or cable tv for this very reason it would just mean I have hundreds of channels with nothing on instead of dozens so completely with you there

perhaps I did not make point well enough, when I say easy viewing etc I mean good but in a Antiques Roadshow kind of way (yes I do like AR) as in I don't think Death in Paradise is crap I enjoy it but take it for what it is, easy viewing

is it mediocre? I think it is better than that and is a bit of a slowburner

did not think you were having a go at me don't worry, I do not get that upset about people having a go at me online anyway smile

This show must have had a huge budget considering the number of well known actors in it. (Unless they all did it on the cheap to get a free Caribbean holiday.)

Because of this it falls into the 'guest starring...' trap of having the murderer being obvious as it is a recognisable actor playing a seemingly small part. eg. Colin Salmon as the Prison Guard
