Sub £50 robust PC gaming headset

Hi All

Can anyone recommend a sub £50 gaming headset for PC use, it needs to be wired using a regular 3.5mm jack (no wireless or USB audio, although could be powered via USB), needs to have full over the ear cans to reduce surrounding noise and needs to be robust to withstand regular classroom type use.

So far Ive looked at a £20 Saitek from PC World which was good for the price but now end of life (need multiple headsets), a £30 Creative Fatality which is OK sound wise but very flimsy, and a few higher priced headsets that do the job but are over budget.

The Turtle Beach PX21 is just about in budget and seems to get some recommendations on here but some comments on Amazon etc suggest they can be a bit brittle?

I just got the Corsair HS1A from overclockers.co.uk for £38. They're comfy, fully enclosed and 3.5mm connection. The HS1 is the USB version.

I found I had to play with the EQ in the soundcard settings to get a sound I was happy with, but that was only 2 mins of tweaking.

do turtlebeach work with PC? Shopto are selling the XC12 for £41 i think. I havent looked back since i got mine!

The Corsair does look quite good cheers, will investigate that one further.

You can get a PX21 that works with PC and XBox etc as well as PS3 for just over £50, but looking at it, it's a bit complicated with regards to connections and the inline box, I just need a simple 2 jack headset maybe with volume control and mute on the inline. Will have a look at the X12 though cheers.

Hi, got a pair of Medusa NX 5.1 recently (£40 or there abouts), seem to work quite well, a bit basey (if that's word) but the 5.1 works well on MW3/BF3 etc
