There's no law against it yet, but I still can't help thinking that I've gotten used to the shove in the back thrill from driving fast cars. Over the years I've owned cars with 0-60 times in the 7's, 6's, 5's and even 4's, but still think that I could happily handle quicker.

What's it like for you guys with cars that can get there in 3's or even 2's? Does it stay scary, or do even you get used to it after a while?

My car takes 5 seconds to get to 60, but I can't say I've got any wish for it to be faster. I got bored of straight line speed in general quite quickly.

Im addicted, thats why I cant wait until I can afford a 1000cc bike, its a rush everytime I open the throttle fully on the 600 let alone a 1000.

Mine is around the 5s mark, it's plenty fast enough.

Yup - 0-100 in 5 seconds is quite a thrill. You get used to it but it doesn't feel slow. I would probably take more power if it was offered.

It is a form of addiction & no matter how quick your motor you will get used to it & crave for more! Not that it is a bad thing, it is just that the cost increases on a logarithmic scale biglaugh

mine feels slow now, too used to it. every now and then I get reminded how fast it goes though. took my dad for a spin first time he's seen the VR, and he crapped himself.

According to the web, my takes 14.9 secs to 60. So I would happily go for something quicker hehe

Nope, I think it's fast enough for the roads round my way! Maybe on an Alps round trips, or round some of the quiet Scottish roads more acceleration would be fun, but I rarely get enough road to bury my foot in the carpet for very long.

I think my Westfield is sub-4 seconds, I need to get it timed as the speedo cannot keep up! But I really do not want any more acceleration it is brutal and not that much fun on the road as you reach silly speeds with very liitle effort.

If I was doing it again I would go for a slower one that requires more involvement to get up to speed.

Hi

Think the skill to use the possible acceleration / money to pay for regular new clutches would be of more use for acceleration off the line.

And once moving suspect many would benefit on a reminder that lots of throttle but no revs isn't that useful.

All the best

I guess a car like that will always feel fast, compared to a more orthodox closed vehicle.

Interesting. More speed is rarely a bad thing and I'd certainly welcome a few more ponies without fuss. But, I agree with the poster who has lost interest in straight-line speed.

As my driving has progressed I get more satisfaction out of technical twisties than planting my foot and 'feeling the kick'.

Maybe get a motorbike or an Atom if outright speed is your thing.....

I'm considering slapping a 50bhp NOS kit on the Blade.

I can assure you, scraping your knee off the tarmac never feels slow.

And that there is a man who has never been round a track on the back of a sidecar.
