High Beam / Main Beam Qusetion

High beam does not come on when main beam is on, nor can I flash..... however if only side lights or no lights I am able to flash.....

is this a relay issue ?

Sounds like a problem in the light button area, maybe a loosed wire on the dip beam switch.

ISTR there is a an odd diode in your arrangement (to prevent feedback from the flasher into the rest of the lighting circuit) somewhere in the loom near the fusebox.

Will have a look in mass of wires when I have some daylight and can see........ the blue light on the dash comes on even though the high beam doesn't (based on the scenario in the OP), so i think the switch is working, and suspect something on the lighting circuit to have failed, become dislodged/loose.
