Hi All,

In the market for a 996 GT2, anyone have any info or know the car in the below link. Looks well priced.

http://www.gtmarques.com/product_catalogue/porsche...

Going to look at the car this week, any hints and tips on what to look out for on these?

Can't help with tips etc., but Henry of 991V also has a GT2 for sale here

More miles granted but less money and apparently clean.

There are comparatively few '6 GT2s and no doubt someone will be along soon who knows this car. Evo Eng keeps a register of them, and may be able to give you some usel info - he for did me when I bought mine.

My car had had an issue with the 'intergear' in the bttom of the engine, and some have suggested that all of the earlier GT2s are going to need this sorted at some stage. Slight rattle just above idle revs is the tell-tale apparently. At the same time the turbos were reconditioned, but mine had done 40k miles at that stage.

Usual 996 issues apply - front radiators, suspension mounts.

But most important is making sure it hasn'e been thumped and repaired as may have, by all accounts.

(Edited to remove unintentional double-entendre. Ooh matron, etc.)
Happy hunting - they are fantastic cars.

He's a clever blighter that Henry, to think he had the foresight when he set the business up 10 (or however many years ago it was) to realise that at some point in the future Porsche would produce a 911 with the model designation 991 . . . tongue out

But back on topic, I know the previous owner of this car biggrin I also happen to know it's a peach and ticks ALL the right boxes. £38K will see you driving around in very tidy, original, un-crashed piece of Stuttgarts finest that's unfettered by nannying electronics.

Believe this car has been discussed many times before on here, and so it is still for sale. Say no more. But I believe when you see it, it will be more than obvious why she's still sitting there.

If I had the money ( which unfortunately I don't ) the 911V car would be, as the advert states, pound for pound the best value for sure.

I looked at the GTM car.
No service history after 2006 got me walking.
Bought mine from 911Vsmile

Edit...
Just looked closer at the ad, no way did that car have FSH when I went to view it. If I remember correctly its only done 6ish K in the last 5 years and the last service was at about the 20K mark. The salesman tried to sell me the well its not been used so its not necessary to service line.
Also I don't think it had a stamp for each year before 06 either.
Its a 2 owner car (memory again) and the second owner who has a shop I seem to remember being told, really didn't bother keeping the provenance going.
It certainly put me off even if the drive out already hadn't.

OP I am at home all next week and about 20 miles from GTM if you want to look over a GT2 to get a feel for a good one.
PM me.

My advice, pay a little more and get a good one. This is a car that you will not sell on very easy so make sure it is the right one. Also pay your local Porsche dealer the £250 for a full check. It will be the best £250 you have ever spent. I've had a few do feel free to ask any questions! Alvin@alvinedyvane.com
