Twasnt me....! I know LeeBee had some Chimaera style fairings for the S, which I liked but they didnt fit the V8S bonnet, not heard of the Griff style ones!! I would be interested to see them though if you do find out.

Cheers

OK Mike thanks for letting me/us know.
Strange that they don't fit your car as the bonnet shape doesn't look any different around the lights.

I prefer the Chim ones so I'll get in touch with LeeBee for advice on fitment.

Cheers,
Kevin

Mike

I think that was the thread that I was thinking of!

Well done for finding it.

I'd like either Griff or Chim style fairings, they'd be more in keeping with the relative modernity of the rear lights.

I have a kit car mag or two at home and I'm sure there's a car in one that I noticed with similar fairings and shape of bonnet, could be worth asking a price for them to make these for the S.

I can feel a sideline coming on here!

The V8S bonnet is slightly higher than the others, meaning the difference between the bonnet where it meets the headlight and top of headlight is less. Thus the ones LeeBee had for the V6 wouldnt fit! They were for sale some time ago on PH classifieds, maybe he sold them!

Hope that explains it!!!

Regards

Actually I have the Chim style fairings at the moment, as I bought them off Lee a while ago, with intentions of modifying them and getting perspex cowlings fitted to them in turn. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to do this as I was close to selling the car. They are currently in my garage. Podie was going to be buying them off me, but his cheque was lost in the post and he has yet to send me another one.

Hi Chris,

Wonder whether I can get cash to you before Podie's cheque arrives

It'll bounce anyway

So, are these standard Chim fairings?

Cheers,
Kevin

Matt, I'm just kidding!

Chris, to be fair we should give Podie a chance to get a cheque to you again.

If Podie no longer wants them, I'll see Matt in the car park.....

Matt's punching low here ...below the belt even.
I know what they are, just not so sure they'll fit but I love them ....I want them!

Come on outside I said, let's sort this out!
No gloves!

I'll give Podie a mail and see what he's doing. But if not, then they'll definitely be up for sale as my finances have hit rock bottom and I'm desperate to raise cash for my replacement exhaust.

pistolar, did you manage to fit them to the car? Got any pics of it? If you have mould making facilities I'll gladly chip to get some new ones made if people are intrested.

Maybe there would be if you could get that pic posted.. From my point of view, I'd almost certainly have a set. I quite regularly do trips of 300+ miles and even if I clean the lights as I set off, the amount ofmuck flicked up on them from the road means the power is reduced markedly. I can't work out if its worse at this time of the year with flies, or in the winter with salt.. Faired in lights might help me ouot somewhat..

Plus I think they would look ace..
