I have had this.

It turned out to be the coil pack.

Hopefully yours will be as easy (and cheap) to remedy.

Might want to check the throttle potentiometers. From what you describe, mine did exactly the same and a fresh set of throttle pots sorted it right out.

Thanks chaps - i'll try what you've suggested. V8GRf. i did think of this because when i first got the car two of the wheels were buckled. They were fixed and there was no problem. this juddering has only started a couple of years ago. Don't ask the car has been to the garage to be fixed twice when someone has hit it, overall time in the garage 11 mths. 8 mths in one go

At 50-60 what revs are you doing?

When was it serviced last? Coil/TB's/leads?

Could reset the adaptives, do you have diagnostics?

Have you checked the balance of the throttle bodies?

What is it like in the other gears?

Engine mounts?

What kind of shuddering, violent/soft, steering/brakes/wheels?

hello nrick, the car was serviced a couple of hundred miles ago - 6000 mile service. it has been mentioned to the garage i used on a previous occasions. thats when the lambda sensors were changed, they never mentioned the TB or coil etc, i don't have access to diagnostic equipment but my friend is a mechanic so i'm going to discuss with him. thanks for your reply.

If you are up near Gloucester you can use my Diagnostics, and I have a spare coil or two. I have the syncrometer as well if you wanted to check the tb's.

hello Neil - really appreciate the offer, but at the moment the car is up on blocks in the garage awaiting a good and proper clean up, it will probably be there for a few months. I haven't posted on here for a good few years and it still good to see that it hasn't changed re offers and help.

If I'm coming down your way, I'll throw them in the car.
