Hi many thanks for your responses I spoken to rick who was once again on hand he stated that it may be and most likely do tue to the fact they was putting the clamp on that it activated the alarm
As for the wheel I need to check in the daylight. The reason y they clamped me was because I was visiting my mate and the visitors badge was face down.. It was on display but wrong way up so they thought it would warrant a £100 fine

F****** b*******!!!! They drive me nuts!! Why don't we just live in nazi Germany?? I hate them. I lived in London for a few years. My wife parked her car one Sunday night with a back wheel just touching a yellow line. It was outside our flat with a residents pass on the dash and had just gone 10 minutes into controlled time. The b******* (in that time) had already begun hoisting the car, I had to go to a compound and the f****** charged me £300 to get it released. As for the wheel I need to check in the daylight. The reason y they clamped me was because I was visiting my mate and the visitors badge was face down.. It was on display but wrong way up so they thought it would warrant a £100 fine

Hopefully this is going to become illegal soon, the fact you have to pay before you can contest it is a joke.
I do hope so, I now have to draft a letter 1st thing tomorrow and try and contest this fine. What a nightmare, I don't think they care what they put people through and how much time it wastes .. Fair enough if it was a blatant piss take I did then fair enough but this was minor..
Im hearing that they get commission for every car clamped don't know if thats a rumour and also with parking fines they have to meet a set quota a week/day
Awful scenes

I saw one get into a fight once. Now, I'm not inclined to violence but there was something about that guys face; I just couldn't get tired of seeing it get punched. As I look at the world around me, I do often feel that I should've grown to become more violent. What a nightmare, I don't think they care what they put people through and how much time it wastes .. I once bought a commuter car that I had parked at the weekend (in an area where car parking was legal at weekends) but over the Sunday night someone had driven into it bending the front wishbone making the car impossible to move. I put a note in the window Monday morning saying I couldn't move it because of an accident that I wasn't party to. Yet they still ticketed me on the Monday AND the Tuesday, it was obvious the car was written off and I was just having trouble fitting in arranging it's towing (at my cost). This wasn't a busy road it was on the estate I lived on to stop commuters from parking.

Not your best posting Slarti me old mucka...but it was at 00.41 !!Your current 'non-violent' approach to life has given you a successful lifestyle, some nice Porkers and a beaute of a V8V.
Not sure why you would want to change that due to a silly clamper

So just because it's on your car means that you damaged it? No evidence to suggest that at all
Ok to say that on a forum Georgeous, different ball game saying it to the Police. Plus CCTV could be watching. I would advise against

These people don't bother you unless you give them a reason to do so - however small and however innocent - and I know it is an absolute pain in the bum when it happens

Easy - you've damaged somebody else's property.
And they have your reg number
