November track day tyre choice?

I'm on track on Saturday and I'm currently running a set of R888s. Whilst realising these would be no good if the temperature dropped below about 7C, I was wondering if there is a temperature band above 7C (for example up to say 12C) where more standard road tyres (Goodyear F1As) will have better grip or will R888s offer better grip all the way down to 7C?

I'd welcome any views or experience in this area.
