What Car Thread!
Discussion
Hi.
I recently sold my immaculate E36 328i Sport, it will be sorely missed.
It had to go due to the birth of my son. Unfortunately the boot was too shallow to fit his buggy and 4 doors will make life a lot easier with him.
I am therefor in the market for a new car. I have the following parameters:
-£7500 budget
-4 doors
-4WD or RWD
-200Bhp / 225 NM Torque +
-Must be able to fit a buggy frame with detachable carry cot(!) and a weeks worth of shopping
-Must be FUN
I am not fussed if it's a diesel or petrol, it needs to have a bit of go. On that back of that I am not too fussed about MPG.
So far I have thought about:
Mk 4 R32 Golf
S4 Avant
E46 330 Touring
Temptation for an E39 M5 is strong as well.
What do you think? I want something practical, fast and fun. Any experiences of the above? Anything I am missing?

If you're considering S4's you might want to look a C32. The C Class estate's load area is far bigger than that of the A4 Avant and a fair bit bigger than the 3 Series. It's worth factoring this in if you end up with a bulky buggy because you need to get that in plus kiddie clobber plus your own stuff. A Bugaboo almost fills the Avant on it own.
