If i mounted some nice driving lights in the nose of my chim as per the griffith would it affect the cooling much enough to bother about. I was thinking of some of the small ones like on a mini, or if anyone has photoshop or a car like that already can i see a pic please

I am actually considering changing chim in the spring, i had it nearly 4 years and do fancy a change, quite fancy 5L griff or a Tuscan, always liked the griff look and prob easier to look after than a Tuscan so you never know, trouble is will i be welcome after a chim ?

Always fancied a Tuscan, just need to find one with full rebuild at reputable place with no issues and all ok, immaculate paint and interior, everything working and less than 30,000 miles for around 13K, any offers ?

EFA. If its the same car it wouldn't be called a Griff.

I thought about the extra light malarky as most of my night driving is countryside.

Come on photoshop man!

Hi Mate,

I had driving lights fitted to my Chim years ago, originally they were wired into the main-beam wiring loom & only came on when main-beam was used. Last year I had X-Works re-route the wiring & they used the instrument light on/off switch under the dash to operate the driving lights & the instrument lights now wired into the sidelight switch. Never had a problem with overheating either.

Cheers.

Now that looks good, mine has the later nose with the bar in the middle, would have to be careful with size etc

What are they bolted to, is the fibreglass strong enough with big washers etc to spread load

Hi, you can just see the heads of the chrome mounting bolts sticking out from the underside of the car. They hold the brackets in place which the lights are mounted to. As far as I can remember there are thick wide washers under the heads of the bolts spreading the "load".

Cheers matey.

Looks good Ron.

I have a Mk 1 grill as well.

I intend to ditch the grill, cut away the horrible turned up edge of the fibreglass opening, mount a black grill in front of my oil cooler and rad and mount a couple of driving lights similar to yours,...that's the winter plan anyhoo!
