Some poor sod geting knocked off his bike by one drivder who wasnt looking and then the next driver in her frenzy drives over his bike, could have been very nasty, some swearing (understandably) from the cyclist.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qycF0raqpg&fea...

The two blokes sound a bit dopey, not sure if the cyclist is perhaps a bit in shock/concussed but the drive r of the Golf doesnt sound that smart and the woman just kind of makes a pathetic mewling noise, confusing "didnt see" with "didnt look".

I have little sympathy for cyclists but in this instance these two drivers are a couple of complete morons. The woman in particular, having almost no situational awareness at all, appears to not even see the collision in front of her, attempting to edge out of junction without even realising there could be a bloke getting rolled under her wheels. I hope they both got a suitable bking from the police.

WTF was she thinking? Did the car that knocked him down just drive off too?

Strangely enough I saw this last night.

Woman needs her licence removed if you asked me. Kept bhing and didn't even say sorry! Guy who turned into the cyclist seemed genuinely(sp) apologetic, though.

I thought that, but actually he floors it and parks up near the junction. you can see it parked at like 2:12

other side of the spectrum though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDAYkdlKEGI&fea...

Another one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvJBNiEVSug

(Does contain a little bit of blood!)

I'm not a big fan of cyclists (personal opinion) but that doesn't stop me giving them the room they need. Plus I find accidents like the ones in this thread horrific. Hammers home the point that you're driving around in a big lump of metal that can hurt others if you're not careful.

I don't think it's quite that bad - she'll have been doing that absolute classic of looking right as she came out the junction and assuming the road to her left was clear.
It's no different to the roundabout crashes, where the car in front sets off and stops only to be rear ended by the car behind as the driver was looking right.

it was obviously the cyclist's fault as he was speeding and the driver that hit him didn't judge his speed correctly.

seriously tho, the guy who hit him did seem apologetic but the woman? no excuse whatsoever, at a minimum should be done for driving with undue care and attention, and for being a knob.

If it was a child that was hit, then i don't think it would have been a minor collision.

fking hell. He was very lucky, a foot or so either way and she'd have been over him. Guy who initially hit him seemed apologetic enough but Jesus.

You're right, would have been a collision with a minor...

I'm just amazed by the continuous stupidity of the woman. No idea.

Crazy.. Reminds me of the video of the driver ploughing into a cycling demonstration in Brazil that appeared a while back.

Also, quick question.. Can a cyclist claim against the drivers car insurance, or would it be done via courts / personal injury sort of thing?

Bad enough being knocked off in the first place, but the woman's driving was unbelievable.

Mastodon2 - reassure me you don't mean that: 'little sympathy for cyclists'?

I mean, I know we like to specialise in sweeping generalisations here on PH, but that seems an extraordinarily daft thing to think, let alone type.

The one where the cyclists were in a group and the car ploughs through the middle of them? This video reminded you of that? Vivid imagination you have! hehe
