Time for tea? 462mph covered from every angle

What very, very big speeds look like on salt flats

A few weeks ago we showed you some video of the Speed Demon streamliner cracking the quadruple-ton at Bonneville in Utah.

Well, the Speed Crew have been back, and this time they nailed a standing mile at 458.189mph, with an exit speed of 462.345mph. They also slapped on enough ReplayXD cameras to catch more than enough angles of the run.

And you can enjoy it all while supping a nice cup of tea. Ah, the wonders of modern technology, eh?

That is incredible!

Question though, why do most drag cars have a steering wheel that shape?

Great vid, amazing speed - love the way the speed piles on after it leaves the launch truck. Bet that was fun to pilot!

Oh dear, I'm sooooo out of touch these days...

It made me chuckle, too.

Still, great vid and a good ad for the cameras.

5.7-litre V8 with twin Turbonetics 'Demon' turbochargers and more than 2200bhp. For when you absolutely, positively have to haul ass!

That was pretty boring, I suppose the face that it was on saltflats didn't give any perspective of how fast it actually was...

Mmhm hmm. Imagine how much better it'd have been if he was doing that around the N'Ring biggrin

What cracks me up is how he casually closes his visor at well over 200 mph!!
