Kangaroo Rally cars and other interesting rally cars

Great image in this week's "pic of the week"

reminds me of this particular rally car from Porsche...apparently concerned about kangaroo's they fitted this safety kit....



anyway, it got me wondering.....anyone know of any other interesting rally cars in this similar vein?

Slightly different but still odd, when compared to what it would have been up against - The Group B Citroen BX rally car. This was during the Audi Quattro, 205, Metro 6r4 period!

I was at the IRC a couple of weeks ago in Cyprus and spotted by far the coolest rally car I've ever seen at the night SS. It was being used as the '000' car for the event.

It sounded like a cross between an old escort BDA and a Grp B car, and when it eventually came into view it turned out to be a Suzuki Vitara Jeep in tourist rental green. The driver was slinging this thing down the road like a pro and was drifting it spectacularly around corners and mini roundabouts.

Highlight of event for me - something interesting in a sea of bland skodas.
