Headaches after visiting the dentist

I went to the dentist a week ago to have a couple of fillings done and ever since I have had a headache. At first I thought it must be a cold but as time passes i'm wondering if the headaches are related to the fillings.

The fillings were pretty deep and one was put on top of an exposed nerve, though that one seems ok. On the other side the most pain has been caused by the clamp that was put over the tooth before the filling is applied. It felt like it was pushing the gum back up the tooth, there was an incredible amount of pain. I'm used to having fillings but this was on an entirely different level.

I am very irritable at work, snapping at people when I shouldn't and I find it more difficult to concentrate.

So, do you think I just have a virus or could it be tooth related?

At a guess, it's possible not all the rot was removed. Any pain in the filling area?

The filling are seems fine, mor the gum line really.

Is the pain reducing? Those brace things (you can tell I'm not a dentist) can feel sore for a while. Hopefully the likes of Driller and Macgee will be along shortly.

Is the pain localised to a particular tooth OP or on one side or another of your head or both?

Does it hurt more with a cold drink for example or is the pain continuous? Does it hurt to bite down?

Sometimes I warn someone when the decay was deep that the tooth may be sensitive to cold for a few days. I also tell them that if the sensitivity continues for more than a week or if the tooth starts to really hurt on it's own then it will probably need root treatment (ie nerve taking out).

Does this tally with your symptoms?

I am literally having this issue at the moment, went in, had first filling in upper right back, (and left) and for about a week after had some really nasty pain, went back and he said it wasn't quite level and ground a bit more off, 2 weeks and it's still not feeling right and he's just taken a bit more off. Getting better now but still sensitive to pressure/temp.
Basically if your bite isn't right you will grind on it during sleep which can cause all sorts of problems.
