Winter Tyre Prices???
Discussion
Not sure all but is it me or have winter tyre prices in the UK shot up this year they are nearly double the price of normal all weather tyres even on the usual suspects of the cheaper websites. Or is it just a case that I am thinking about this the wrong way as the makers will only make a smaller volume of them as such the rrp would be dearer it just seems they are seriously more money than last year??
no not at all been monitoring prices for over 4 months and they are static and have been since August when they went into production just the prices seem excessive thats all I bought 2 sets from Germany last year for under half the price on the UK market just think typical UK rip Off Britain
Toaster I think that is the most valid point yet but with what seems our worsening winter weather this could be a new market but our weather is so unpredictable that we could end up with a mild winter again and if that happens then the market dries up again oh I love the unpredictable British weather

Fair enough, but it does explain lower prices of snow tyres if the market for them is much bigger through legislation.
Sorry I wasn't trying to pick holes in what you said but rather more concerned that the legislations might have changed again. I should have worded it better. more people buying them this year due to bad winter last year, and this topic is raised every november.
Also factor in inflation and cost of fuel (to transport tyres to you) and they are more expensive!!
