Le Mans 2012 Friday what to do

Okay here is a brief planning of what I'll be doing on the Friday. Always lots to do.
i) Get up early in the Mulsanne campsite where we always stay, Bacon Sandwich & coffee
ii) Go to the paddock early, get in as soon as the gates open, normally about 10ish.
iii) Quick scout around there.
iv) Leave sharpish. Go along the Mulsanne straight just to see if the burn out brigade are in town, usual fooling around with the local plod. Always a laugh.
v) Then zoom up to Saint Saturnin, for the Classic British Welcome, which for 2012 will be Spitfire 50yrs anniversary. See more here: http://www.classicandsportscar.com/diary/classic-b...
vi) Then zoom south to the Bounty for the PH meeting, about 2pm. Pies and gravey like last year. Lovely grub. Loads of great cars. Hopefully no idiots will be silly enough, to put Gulf stickers on my Esprit as the last time. You know who you are :-)
vii) Then it's into town for the parade early evening, Hawaiin Tropical Girls, Beer. Watching the idiots at Mulligans, then back to the campsite. Obviously I won't be driving :-)

Looks like we'll be following you around then as thats pretty much our plan. If you see a Vette in your mirrors all day it'll be me making sure we don't get lost. Last year we failed to find Le Bounty but still had a nice drive out in the country. A mate of mine is bringing his Stag (car not "do") so to hear the CBW theme will be a bonus for him.

Sounds like a plan. Im in!
Maybe not for Friday but if anyone is down for the whole week I would suggest a trip to The Musée des Blindés or Musée Général Estienne a tank museum located in the Loire Valley of France, in the city of Saumur. It is one of the world's largest tank museums.
This year we went to Saumur on the Tuesday when there is not much happening in Le Mans, and could not beleive how many tanks and military vehicles, and equipment on display from all nations from the first and second world wars right up to the most modern stuff, Unmissable if this is your cup of tea.

They have awaken, those 'who know who they are'. Yes most of what you've stated is true. You should have followed me to the place round the back and gone there, like the locals do. 'Picked up his drunken wife' is maybe an over statement. If you'd done that you would have been a player.

This is on my things to do list. As a kid went to Bovington many a time. Heard about this place you've mentioned. By the way on the drive down to Le Mans taking the nice twisty roads (forget the autoroute), you can see on a hill south of Sainte-Foy de Montgommery, a German Tiger tank.
Back to the post. Looking forward to seeing plenty of Spitfires. Hope weather is kind.
