What car, 10k, tour of Europe
Discussion
So, theoretical 10k budget. You'll buy the car, tour Europe for a month, sell the car on yuor return.
The trip will entail several thousands of miles. Motorways to towns to mountain passes to boulevard cruising and everything in between.
Fuel costs are (of course) a consideration, so no 7 litre v12s.
What do you buy?

How about a nice SL500, always assuming it's the summer you will be doing it?

until you mentioned fuel costs, this could have been a consideration

assuming its a spring/summer trip, you have to have a convertible, so if not an e46 m3, then a honda s2000, BMW Z4/Z4M, audi s4 vert, ,merc clk500 vert,
of course if you are in need of mental health services intervention aka 'crazy' then go for a TVR Chimaera 4.0 vert which can be bought for as little as 7k (this would be my choice

I wonder if you could get a 500 Abarth for £10k? Reasonable fuel and hold their value very well so buy carefully you may lose nothing but the cost of fuel etcThe trip will entail several thousands of miles. Motorways to towns to mountain passes to boulevard cruising and everything in between.

Buy a good mk1 Honda Insight and it will do 80-100mpg depending on how you drive, and be worth at least the same on your return. You won't want to sell it either
Give it a £35 oil change half way round and bobs your uncle.
Compared to driving a 30mpg car you will save at least £1000 in fuel which you can spend on fine wine /food and better accommodation.
