Had a 16k mile 11 plate version in white with the 2l tdci lump I believe it is.

First impression were that it looks really nice in white. It also however looks really big.
Large boot but nothing to get over excited about.

Pro's:

Interior lighting is nice (clear white led) and it had a touch-screen system with built in nav and btooth with an aux in.

The nav worked really well and was very accurate and showed the speed limit of your location which was nice.
Also at night has a nice home light system which when unlocked turns on the sidelights and rear lights.
The stereo was really good and had a nice equalizer function. The car was very stable and pleasant to drive.
engine had plenty of go and was really frugal.

Con's: (Pull up a seat there are loads)

Seats were very unsupportive. Very flat on the base and no real side support either. The touch-screen was not particularly sensitive meaning you had to be quite precise when touching the screen. It also seemed a bit slow.

I also am unsure who designed the interior but they were a pillock. The drivers side window controls are terribly positioned and are blocked by the door handle menaing you have to put your hand/arm in a very awkward position to use them.

They have also sited the phone control on the Lhs stalk as it faces you. So not only have they moved the control from the wheel to an "awkward" position to reach they have placedd them in such a way that they are not that easy to operate.

This is I assume because they screwed up the steering wheel. They have six buttons three on either side for the cruise control. Who the fk needs six buttons.

Off, On and Set. On and set can be used to increase and decrease the speed.
That's all you need but it seems that was too complex for ford.

Then we get to the pdc ( Park distance control ) over sensitive much? A branch from a bush could set it off.
Now I suppose I shouldn't criticise better safe than sorry but still. Then there were the warning sounds for everything.
Leave the lights on and makes a noise. Don't put your seatbelt on it makes a noise.
I can't remember what the other stuff was it made a noise about but there were too many things.

Finally the last two things first the weight. It is a HEAVY car and you can feel it constantly. Not that it's sluggish it just feels incredibly heavy. I've driven minibuses that feel lighter.

As a bugbear the final thing which both annoyed and amused me was it's eco friendly crap. It has a change up arrow on the display between the rev counter and speedo which comes on at anything above around 2k. It makes no noise thankfully.

Then there was the amusing driver related rating monitor. It rates your gearchanges economy and smoothness?? depicted with little flowers the petals of which fill up the better you are.

Now on one hand really amusing but on the other they can fk right off with their sanctimonious eco crap.

Overall I did about 280 miles in it and it was comfy enough I suppose for a dull as dishwater repmobile it would do but I certainly wouldn't waste my own money on one new or used.

Actually just remembered two other things.

One the engine is rough for a modern diesel. Loud and clanky.

Two the engine takes forever to drop revs between gear changes. Quite annoying.

All the bonging can be turned off by the dealer.

I think some of the "cons" are just personal opinion and something that one would get sued to, all cars are different.
On the weight and feel of the car, I sort of agree about the "feel" but they are a big car, (ruddy big). What you dont mention is that if you start to lob it about, they handle incredibly well, and far better than most smaller cars, certainly better IMO than all the comparable size stuff, no matter what price.
I agree the screens are not the best, but they seem the same as the audi ones, and would not be surprised if they are not the same supplier, (delco I think).
For the cash there is nothing that touches a Mondeo IMO.

Surprisingly hard to do. I was towing a very long and heavy trailer with a load of boats blades rigging and trestles.

I think I got 3 for gear changes average. 1 for economy (no surprise I was in 4/5 gear most of the time and IIRC full marks for smoothness not sure how.

Very true. Everything comes down to personal opinion normally. However I suspect if you were to to go sit in one and play with the window and telephone controls you would have to agree they are VERY poorly laid out.

It also cannot be denied I think that the seats really are quite lacking in support though who knows maybe my 11 yr old tractor has too much support??

As for lobbing it about. No fking way not with a 12-15 foot plus long and 8foot high trailer loaded with fibreglass boats on the back.... ;-)
