Any shipping companies recommended?
Discussion
Hi guys,
To try to get to the bottom of my drivetrain whine I took the diff out this weekend and its boxed up ready to be sent to be refurbished (please dont be the crown wheel!!!)
Was just after some advice about good shipping companies. The diff weighs about 45kg all packaged up.
Cheers
Mark

Try www.parcelmonkey.co.uk I use them a lot. You put in the details of your package and they identify the best deals available. Always found them to be excellent, recently sent a 10kg package next day for about £7. Give the website a try, you can arrange for collection from anaywhere though I usually have mine collected from my works. As a guide my diff cost about £20. Pete

Hi Mark, me again, are you sure your diff weighs 45kg? Mine was only about 25kg (about 55lbs)?To try to get to the bottom of my drivetrain whine I took the diff out this weekend and its boxed up ready to be sent to be refurbished (please dont be the crown wheel!!!)

Just had my GKN diff refurbished, have a look at my thread to read the story, and yes my crownwheel & pinion was worn (expect the worst). I managed to get a great mint used set for less than £100, so do not get too despondent. All the best, Pete
Thanks guys,
Pete, I had been watching your post and it was that the triggered me into getting mine sorted while there may be the possibility of getting second hand parts!
I've been let down by TNT (apparently they wont ship from a buisiness adress if it isnt on a business account so be anyone else be warned) so I may be taking it up there myself.
Ill keep you all posted,
Mark
