2003, N.Wales deaths were up 13.6%
South Wales deaths were up 34%
Dyfed/Powys deaths were up 38%
Gwent were down.
Figures obtained by ITV Wales
Quote:-
John Rowling, Mid and South Wales Safety Camera Partnership's project manager, said: "If we have got a 95 per cent positive effect in our area then I would say thank you very much.
"The other five per cent we will be working on and if there is a problem we will act.
"You've got to remember that the number of accidents we are talking about here is very small and the killings and serious injuries could be caused by anything - drink-driving, talking on mobile phones or not wearing seatbelts."
So isnt this the same as saying speed cameras aren't working and they're nothing to do with road safety?

I think you're missing the point here
. These figures clearly demonstrate Brunstrom's success. His death figures are up by ONLY 13.6% whereas others' are up by MORE THAN DOUBLE THAT. He must be very proud of his significant achievement, which he will use as justification to continue his policies.Peter Ward said:

Aye, "We're using the wrong medicine so lets double the dose."
Interestingly, the Welsh Daily Post recently gave two full pages to a report on Brunstrom and, quoting the "100 lives saved by cameras" propaganda, they headed it, "BRUNSTROM VINDICATED".
Today they gave two column inches to report that "Road deaths are increasing"
Does Anyone really believe any "Independent" Surveys, by any University, when the sexed up Govt doctrine is made clear, and when ALL receive Taxpayers grants, handed out by parasitic Govts , and implied threats go a Long Long way.
The local Paper, gives a double spread to the lies, but a few inches to the increases in fatal accidents.
As in many local papers, the council spend Taxpayers & Council tax on adverts , which is a regular income, NOT to be risked, by upsetting the parasites in council chambers.Freedom of the press is a debatable subject.

Thing is, the survey can carried out independently, but if the client words the brief carefully enough the outcome can be predicted:
"Analyse the deaths and serious injury figures ... at sites where there has been a history of serious and fatal accidents ... with a proven connection to speeds which are both too high for the conditions and in excess of the speed limit ... for a three year period beginning immediately before a highly visible speed camera was placed there"
... well bugger me, speed cameras work!
