Road Trip - London to Milan to see friends in December

Just got a DS3 Sport (diesel) and thinking of driving from London to Milan to in December...would love to get any advice on the quickest route, views on Euro Tunnel over Ferry and any other things to remember as part of the journey...cheers in advance

"thanks" for the reply...reason I asked this group is because its based near where i live, and figured some members may have travelled from this area abroad...

The big problem may be closed roads, you can get from Reading to Geneva or near there in a day without it being a rush. Once in the Alps (if you want to go that way) the problem may be the weather affecting which routes are open. If it wasn't December I'd say do as many of the passes as you can to make it fun.
