Why so many 996 GT2's for sale ?
Discussion
Haha, you'e right there. Bit of a blind spot for the BiB !
Reckon the GT2 route is a pipedream TBH. Still lust after one, so if the Lottery numbers come up , then yes would go for it.
Believe it or not, I am happy as a pig in s
t with my wee Caterham at the moment. Pennies to run in comparison to previous cars. Only bad thing is you get wet now and again , and best not to hit anything hard, as you WILL come off worse !
But when I compare it to your Porsche's, kind of makes me glad I went the Caterfield route when I look at what I need to spend on a service. Last one cost me about £50 and 30 mins of my time. Insurance is pretty good too, even with 3 well earned points !!!

Every time I look at the classifieds ( quite often ) there seems to be another GT2 added ?
Just a sign of the times ?
What!!!!Just a sign of the times ?
there's 19 for sale on here and the majority of those have been on for a while maybe due to been poor examples.
I would say thats very low given the climate etc or have the owners realised that they maybe sitting on a little nest egg.
The 996 version is the last raw GT2 and forget OP i would say the numbers for sale is low because of this. Great investments
There are 13 in the classifieds and are mostly dealers, bar a couple of private ads. In some cases I'd expect they need to sell the car to get their capital back. Possibly some SOR in there too.
Sure, it represents about 10% of the UK cars, but I haven't seen any drastic change in numbers for sale.

Now is nothing special - there are usually GT2s for sale. Simply put - there are more than enough cars to accommodate all of the people who want to buy them. This is also why they are at comparatively bargain prices - not a new situation and no indication of it changing either. Remember kids - just because it is rare and good doesn't mean that it is guaranteed to be desirable to people who might actually buy one...
