Im being offered it as a part ex for my Lotus, although I could do with a runner really...
Any ideas what to value it at? taking into account the amount of work required. He doesnt specify WHY he's not completed the work, which start the alarm bells for me.

Indeed yes, however with a "kit 'o' bits" car you never have the peace of mind of trying things out! i.e the engine, gearbox, diff, electrics (well im sure the electrics can be tested) - just worry that there is a huge issue lingering there waiting to be found after getting it back in one piece...

There are two Aux shafts, one sits in the middle of the V and drives the air con and alternater the other sits down at Crank level on the drivers side and drives the oil and water pumps, there is a woodruff key on that one that some times fails and is an engine out job to sort so it is probably that one he is talking about failing. While it is out I would refurb the water and oil pumps at the same time as you have them off, they can cause leakage problems, both to the outside(puddles on the floor) and between each other(oil in the water and reverse) so I understand.
Was just looking at this one myself - on the Cerbera page on FB.
Lovely colour combination and looks really tidy. I was interested, but not at that price. I would want to do a body off replacement for the outriggers ideally - just to do it properly, so it's probably not a 'me' project.
Must admit - hadn't realised that the engine is already out.
It looks like it deserves a good home though

mine's a 98 and I've just had the outriggers done. If there's no evidence they've been done, knock a couple of grand off. Makes it worth £6-8k, IMHO.mart 63 said:

You did not offer me £6500, let's get that straight for a start 
And if that were true, why would you sign upto Turbosport especially to message me with an offer of £5k for it by the weekend??.. Oh and the auxiliary shaft is not seized at all. It still turns freely. No idea where you get your information from?
Oh, and is this the same mate who diagnosed my auxliary shaft problem over the phone? The one who told me that the auxiliary shaft had broken because half of the engine had got too hot!??

Hmm, see the past three adverts that have been in the Pistonhead's classifieds, ebay and the TVR Cerbera facebook page? Then there's the photos on this very forum of the holes in my chassis. Did I not point out the holes in the outriggers when you came to view? Yes, I did- and I remember you saying that repairing the outriggers wasn't a problem. I've been completely honest.I'm sorry you were unable to rip me off. Deal with it.

Personally I was interested but am really in need of a runner at the moment.
I think the price is spot on to be honest, assuming the work needed is new outriggers + tidy + engine back in with new shaft etc it still comes in well under what it should be worth as a tidy low mileage car with new outriggers. (assuming you do most of the work yourself)
I think you have made the right decision to keep it, nice colour by the way!
