Zebra Pedestrian Crossings !

Does anyone know, how many Offences can be committed on a Zebra Crossing?
Whilst we're talking about them, what makes a Zebra Crossing a Zebra Crossing? If the road markings, zig-zag lines and belisha beacons are all present, but the beacons don't flash is it still treated as a crossing?
This reminds me of that Trigger Happy TV sketch .. when Dom Joly dresses up as a snail and slowly crawls his way across the zebra crossing ..
If anyone's got the Trigger Happy 3 DVD, watch the "outtakes" bit, when you discover that in one of the takes, he got halfway across, before two BiB get out of a panda car 3 cars back and put an end to that little joke

Pedestrians ignoring the fact that a pedestrian crossing with a centre refuge is actually TWO separate crossings. But, hey, that's not an offence likely to get them three points and a £60 fine. Maybe Aldershot magistrates could be persuaded to hand out some driving bans to pedestrians ... that would be a joke (not!) - Streaky

Everyday whilst out on patrol we see people committing basic Offences on Zebra Crossings.

If so, what are they and how are they dealt with.
I'd guess at
1. Overtaking
2. Parking (waiting, whatever) on the zig zags
3. Not giving way to pedestrains.
4. The obvious like speeding, etc. which are illaegal elsewhere anyway.
Cant think of any more so tell us.

Is 1) true, in that you can actually be nicked for not stopping at a zebra crossing. Does this still apply if the person has not quite stopped at the crossing?
Always stop myself, but didn't know it was a nickable offence

Yes it is true, as soon as the person starts to cross and places a foot on the crossing then you commit the Offence.
Ive seen, as im sure you have, lots of examples where theres been people on the Crossing and cars drive past them.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Now, I was going to post this query in the obstruction thread, but this is the perfect place for it:
So, what offenses can the pedestrians commit?
And more to the point, have any of the BiB ever charged a pedestrian with loitering on a zebra, or pushing the button on a pelican and walking off/crossing on the red man causing traffic to stop unneccessarily, or anything else, for that matter?
