Difference between Mk2.5 Sport and 10AE?
Discussion
I'm thinking about changing my 10AE to get a Mk. 2.5 Sport. Is there much difference between the two for driving/ comfort etc. One of the main reasons is there's stuff needing done for the 10AE and so to get it to the same standard as the Sport it would cost as much if not more. One of the main reasons for changing is being a wimp and wanting to get heated seats for winter, since it gets down to -20C here and the car is my everyday drive. Do the bigger brakes make a difference to braking performance? In regards to the acceleration it should be pretty similar, so I guess any difference is in the driving?
Obviously I would go for a test drive first, but there are not many examples here in Norway, so it would require a flight to see the car and so I thought I'd ask here first.

I had been wondering about that, as I do like the blue on the 10AE and I know what needs done/ has been done on my car. The biggest problem is getting some seats to Norway as there are very few from the more modern MX-5s and so they never really come up for sale. I could ship some, but people don't like the hassle/ potential scam for shipping outside the UK. I'll still keep an eye out, it just makes it a bit harder/ more expensive.
ETA: Realise you mean the kits to install in the original seats. They need new leather and I think I'd prefer the Mk. 2.5 seats. However it is potentially something to consider. I suspect it'd be over £1000 to be re-upholstered in Norway due to the labour costs being so high. A friend found it cheaper to pay for seats to be delivered to the UK, redone there and posted back than to get them done here.

It would probably be more cost effective to just fit a heating element to your current seats. I don't know what's available in Norway but this is for sale at Moss in UK: Seat heaters.
They are probably available much cheaper from eBay.

Yes, it would make more sense. The reason for considering the Sport was I will need to replace the soft top soon, and so that is probably £300 upwards including postage, plus the installation on top. I suspect I could get around £10 000 for my car, and there is a Sport for £12 000 with the same number of km (130k). It also has a heated rear window on the hardtop, unlike mine. I also have the usual problem with the side bolster on the leather been worn for the seats so at some point will need to replace the covers.
